Outstanding place, super clean, excellent staff. The food is delicious, and I would recommend making reservations for dinner because this establishment is very popular with the locals. The breakfast buffet has all the items one can wish for. Even a queen would be satisfied with the selection. During my stay, the TV in my room broke down. The manager installed a new TV in less than an hour, I call this supervisor service. I will recommend this place to all my friends and co-workers.

Have eaten here many times over the last five years and it never disappoints. The atmosphere, especially in the winter when the fire is going. Beautifully decorated and exposed wood beams, this is a quaint place to take relatives or people new to Germany. In the fall, the goose leg with chestnut gravy is a must have. Make a reservation and order it in advance. Don’t forget to try the local garlic soup and walnut bread, you won’t be disappointed.

Had dinner with 7 other friends and co-workers at this restaurant, which is part of a hotel. This restaurant is close to one of the biggest US bases, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The restaurant is decorated as a traditional German restaurant. We were promptly seated and were given a menu in English and German with big pictures of the food. I ordered a bone-in Iberico pork chop with plum sauce, potato gratin and ratatouille. The pork was perfectly cooked and the potato gratin was delicious. However, the plum sauce had a strange aftertaste, and the ratatouille was average, and was not served fully hot. The service was rather brisk and curt, giving a feeling that they were rushing us to order. There was a desert menu but it was not offered, which reinforced the sense that they wanted us out in and out, fast. This restaurant seems to be geared to the American military clientele from the nearby base, not an elevated, authentic German restaurant for but more like a Spiesinder (dîner) with elevated prices.

And if you're lucky enough to secure a table near one of the windows, you'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Now on to the food - it was simply outstanding. From the perfectly cooked and beautifully presented entrees to the creative and indulgent desserts, every dish was a work of culinary art. The standout dish for me was the roasted duck, which was moist, tender and full of flavor. But what truly made this dining experience special was the service. The staff were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. They were happy to answer any questions we had about the menu and made sure that we felt taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, I can't recommend Burgschänke highly enough. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for two or a special night out with family and friends, this establishment is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. The combination of exceptional food, stunning scenery and top-notch service make it a true hidden gem.
